As a genealogist specializing in the use of technology and social media to improve genealogical research and to interact with others in the family history community, Thomas MacEntee relies upon his 25 years of experience in the information technology field. Thomas is a nationally known genealogy speaker and author. He has spoken at national conferences and institutes including RootsTech, Federation of Genealogical Societies conference, National Genealogical Society conference, Association of Professional Genealogists Professional Management Conference and the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy.
 
As the creator of GeneaBloggers.com, Thomas has organized and engaged a community of over 2,800 bloggers to document their own journeys in the search for ancestors. Better known in the genealogical community as the “Genealogy Guru,” Thomas is the webmaster of the popular blogs, High-Definition Genealogy and Hack Genealogy, and is a regular on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

JCGS October Meeting

The Johnson County Genealogical Society will meet Thursday, October 10, 2013, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. at the Cleburne Public Library, 302 W. Henderson. Our program will be “Johnson County History” presented by Randolph Garner. Mr. Garner is a long-time resident of Cleburne and is well known for his work with the Johnson County Heritage Foundation and the Chisholm Trail Outdoor Museum. The public is invited to attend.

Members of the society will be in the genealogy section of the Cleburne Library at 5:30 p.m. each month before our regular meeting to help anyone with their family history research. Come join us!
